I'm 30 years old and live in San Diego, California. I was never a big hiker, but grew up on the East Coast, where I took having the outdoors in my back yard for granted. So when I moved to California, I started craving the outdoors more, so I took up hiking. It's been about 5 years now. I have hiked extensively in the San Diego area, and just recently completed Mt Whitney in one day. I am not an extreme backpacker, I don't have all the crazy gear, however in my 5 years of hiking I have learned a lot and feel that I have a lot to share with many of you who may be where I was five years ago. And if I can do Mt Whitney, so can you.
I started to document my hikes a while ago, but am trying to revive the site because was told recently that finding comprehensive information about San Diego hiking without having to piece together bits and pieces of other sites is difficult and frustrating. Since I have been doing it for five years, I figure I have some knowledge to share.
