Today the boat didn't dock, rather it anchored off the coast, and we to the tender ships to the shore where we again got suckered by Princess to pay 10 Euros each to take a bus into the Old City. Though it turned out ok since a cab would have cost about the same. Anyway, it was a wonderful day, and everything that we saw and did was amazing. The water of the Southern Croatian coast is a beautiful light blue, the coastline is incredible, and the part of the old City that we saw was immaculate. The old part is basically an old walled fortress, complete with lookouts at the top. We actually walked around the entire wall, which cost 50 Kuna each, or about 7 Euro. It's a little much to pay to walk, but it was well worth it. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around, getting lost in the maze of tiny streets, and seeing how people actually lived there, with virtually no personal outdoor space. There was even laundry hanging from many of the windows, like I would picture in Italy. We also did a little shopping, and spent a couple of hours sitting in the plaza drinking beer and cappuchino, and eating bread and pizza. The only downside was the the people didn't seem to be too friendly, though I can hardly blame them since it was so touristy. All in all another city I'd love to visit again.
