|This past weekend I went to the desert to see the desert wildflowers that everyone talks about each spring. The drive wasn't really in San Diego, but most of it was in San Diego County, and some of the drive went into Imperial County.|
I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be, but I guess the big draw is that it's about the only time of the year that you can tell that the desert is actually alive. With all the rains, this years flowers were supposed to be the best in 10-15 years, but I think they spread over a few weeks, with different flowers at different times. Maybe I just missed peak time. Nonetheless, it was still a pretty drive.
